Liza
and Andy, both lifelong sailors, met racing in a World
Championship in Venezuela, were married aboard the classic
yacht Ticonderoga in Martinique, honeymooned
on an Atlantic crossing and have since sailed over 160,000
miles together racing, cruising, running charter boats,
completing ocean deliveries and circumnavigating the
globe with their young children. After being home in
Vancouver, BC for the children's teenage years they
completed a sabbatical sailing around North and Central
America, then crossed the Atlantic in 2001 for a nephew's
wedding in Spain. During the next four summers they
cruised Bagheera across the Mediterranean
to the Black Sea and took part in the East Mediterranean
Yacht Rally to the Middle East. Duncan, their eldest
son, brought Bagheera back across the Med.,
joined by brother Colin, then Andy and Liza headed down
the Moroccan coast to the Canary Islands, Cape Verdes,
and further forays in West Africa. With Duncan's help,
Bagheera crossed into the South Atlantic again
to Jacare, Brazil. Gunkholing along Brazil's north coast
was followed by relaxed winter seasons in the Caribbbean
in 2006-7. Bagheera is now in the Pacific Northwest having cruised over 114,000 miles to 114 countries.
